This site is to report concerns about the general speed of vehicles using a Warwickshire Road.
*Repeat submissions will be automatically closed*
- We won’t reassess sites within 12 months unless there have been significant changes to the road layout or a change in the speed limit. Multiple concerns for the same location will not be addressed and will be closed as duplicates on the concern screen. Please submit your concern only once. Check that we haven’t already assessed your location here (Concern Outcomes) before you complete the form.
- This form will only address speeding concerns and will disregard other issues. Other concerns raised through this system will be closed as N/A (not applicable).
- This process is not suitable for persistent individual driving behaviour. We follow the National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC) guidance on speed enforcement. In terms of speed, we use the 85th percentile for the route, which represents the 85% of motorists’ speeds under free-flowing conditions. This is to enable Warwickshire Police to enforce where necessary.
- This process is not suitable for determining locations for Community Speed Watch sites or groups. If you have any concerns in relation to Community Speed Watch, please contact Gary.Strain@warwickshire.police.uk.
- Your concern will be reviewed by the Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership initially and, if necessary, raised at the Safe Speeds Working Group. Your name and contact information will be shared with Warwickshire County Council, and you will be contacted if necessary for further information about the location. You will also receive an automatic email reply once you have completed reporting your concern. When the location of your concern has been identified and graded, your personal information will be securely removed from the system. Your information will not be shared or used for any other purpose. For more information please visit: Access to information – Warwickshire County Council
- To make it easier for you to report your concern, we have provided an online form for you to complete, which will ensure that we gather all the necessary information to fully investigate your concerns.
- Please only submit one location per concern. If you are a group, please compile your concerns and submit them only once.
- Once we have the information from you, we will use casualty and collision data from the last 5 years, as held by Warwickshire Police and speed data from within the last 12 months that is available to us, to determine what action, if any, can be taken.
- After the investigations are completed, the results will be published on this website within 4-6 weeks, allowing you to view the proposed responses to your concerns along with a brief explanation of each response. You will not receive a personalised response when the outcome is updated.
- Please be aware that submitting your concern does not guarantee that we will take action. Action is dependent on the results of the assessment. We rely on Warwickshire Police to take enforcement action, and they will only consider doing so if the national criteria for speed enforcement, issued by the National Police Chiefs Council, are met.
- Warwickshire Police have the final say on whether a location is safe and suitable for any monitoring or enforcement to take place. Locations may be shared with other partnerships’ working groups if this is appropriate.
- This site is for location-based speed concerns only; any isolated dangerous incidents should be reported to the police on 101 or reported online here (https://www.warwickshire.police.uk/).
- The Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership website has its own privacy notice (https://warksroadsafety.org/privacy/)
